Hops Beerstrò
Interior
2019
The commission to execute the interior design of the restaurant, located in the heart of Trieste, was awarded after the venue had already opened. By then, the logo and brand image were established and have been preserved throughout the project.

This project consists of various elements. The first is the wall design, where the pattern was created by deconstructing and reassembling the brand’s distinctive geometric shapes. This process was carefully done to add a decorative flair through scale adjustment and to impart an expressive quality by hand-painting directly onto the wall. Thus, the pattern bridges the brand’s geometric identity with the need to incorporate paintings that are markedly more expressive in nature.

The paintings, another key element of the project, intertwine two distinct concepts. The first reflects the restaurant’s unique offering: Oriental dishes paired with a selection of craft beers. This unique combination is visually represented by merging parts of different animals. The second concept, which defines the series of paintings at the entrance, maintains the animal subject but portrays them with human characteristics and expressions, as if showcasing the diverse range of clientele.

Additionally, the project features three-dimensional elements, such as the restaurant’s name, which appears to float within the wall, and “bombs” crafted from used beer kegs.
