Scampoli di storia

The installation was created for the 90th anniversary of the Zinelli & Perizzi store. For the occasion, design objects that have marked the store’s history were displayed alongside paintings. The concept originates from the idea of form. The attempt was to remove the concept, fundamental in design, of form/function, to approach something that, stripped of its function, retained only a formal value.

To achieve this, discarded objects collected from a lagoon area and brought in by the sea were gathered. These were then brought into the studio and depicted, giving them a value and attention similar to that given to design objects. Graphic elements and the background help to integrate the paintings with the space, making the project immersive in relation to the environment.

An aesthetic choice was made to ensure that the background and subjects interacted in such a way that in some places, there seemed to be no distinction between the painting and the wall.
