Order & chaos
Interior
2013
This entire section delves into one of the recurring themes in Davide’s work, exploring the relationship and contrast between order and chaos. This dichotomy is presented in various expressive forms, with a recurring element of inorganic, useless, and seemingly shapeless forms juxtaposed against geometric structures or other highly rational elements.
The drawings, all rendered in graphite on paper, stem from an exploration that seeks to combine completely formless and chaotic subjects with absolute rationality derived from compositions based on harmonic proportions. The contrast between shapeless themes, evoking concepts related to Matter and its potential to adopt any form, and rational, geometric themes, evoking Logos and Idea, aims to offer a reflection on two concepts that represent the foundation of the natural world.
